Please note that there are two separate parts to the celebrations at Newcastle Civic Centre on the day:

🇮🇳 OFFICIAL FLAG HOISTING CEREMONY – 12 NOON
Hosted by the Honorary Consulate General of India in Newcastle, led by Mr Meenu Malhotra, Honorary Consul General of India, as part of the official Independence Day commemorations on behalf of The Indian Consulate.

We warmly invite members of the Indian diaspora, our wider community and all friends of India to join us for the official ceremony.

Later in the day, the celebrations continue with a separate evening Independence Day celebration organised by the local IANE group, also taking place at Newcastle Civic Centre from 4pm.
